Preview Book One: In Honor of His Wife, Olivia
Lucas looked carefully at her as she spoke to him. She stood wearing a hotel uniform with her red hair tied back away for her face. Her blue eyes sparkled as she smiled at him.
He was blown away, it was her! He looked at her badge, then back at her wondering, why he would he have to introduce himself to his own wife. Not knowing what to say next, he willed himself to remain calm as she stood there looking at him as if she did not know who he was.
After a few minute he said, “My name is Lucas and.....you are Livie”. He was reading the name her badge that she was wearing.
She quickly wrote down his name than held up the badge with other papers for him to take. He looked at her, then the papers that she was holding out in front of him to take.
He did not take the papers that were being held out in front of him, nor did he even move, he did not even blink......
After entering the meeting room, he turned to Ryan who had followed in behind him. He too knew who she was as he listened to the exchange between the two of them. Lucas stepped closer to him, and spoke in a whisper, “Check the employment records for this hotel and find out how it is that she is working here. Be discreet, I do not want anyone alerted or this to get out until I find out what is going on.”
“Do not let her get away”, was the last thing he said before heading to the front of the room trying to compose himself for the day. He looked toward the door again, that was his wife. She acted, as if she did not know him, she was alive after all this time.
