I loved it and I was afraid to watch. I would sit there and yell to the TV, "No don't open the door. No don't go that room. No don't look under the bed, run run, of course the people would do it, yes he was the master of suspense and bazaar out come. "Like the Puppet Master becoming the puppet."
He was an English film director and producer. A pioneer in techniques in the suspense and psychological thriller.
He showed films with twist endings, thrilling plots, murder and crime in a mystery form. He is considered an icon.
