Remember when family use to eat together at night, and watch television. The whole family would be together in one room. These days there is a television in every room of the house, except the one room. Very few people have a television in the bathroom.
What are the things your family does together these days? Most kids would rather play games and chat on the Internet with strangers than sit with you in the same room with you and play a board game.
My family will get together most holidays, all the adults with children for dinner and some activities. We will do a little of everything like, sport, play games, dance, sing, entertainment each other. Real life can be much better than a show, once to pull the kids away from the television or video games.
