Back in the day a mother would be the one that would manage the home, while the father would work all day.  In those days, family were large, the amount of work that was required at home was endless with the preparing meal, washing, cleaning, and taking children from one place to another.  The love that a mother showered their children with was endless.   These days the family are smaller as women are now having to get into the workplace.  However, it never takes away all the things that a mother will do for their child.
